Who and what is 7 Design: Creative Spaces?
Hi there, my name is Jamie Robertson, and I am an architect with a passion for using 3D modelling and digital twin 3D scans to create the perfect living space for my clients. At 7db our focus is on transforming existing family homes to be future ready and flexible enough for the day-to-day demands of family living. I begin by assessing with you in a collaborative way, your home’s true potential – always with a specific budget in mind. Initially it’s about understanding what’s possible and the best way forward for your project with a time, cost and quality balance.
Our target client base are home owners whom may have run out of useable space for their family but do not want the expense and upheaval of a move that will raise more issues than it will solve.
I have always been fascinated by the way that architecture can shape and enhance the way we live our lives. As an architect, it is my goal to create functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces that meet the needs and desires of my clients.
One of the ways that I like to do this is by using 3D modelling and digital twin 3D scans to visualize and optimize the layout and design of a space. These tools allow me to understand the space and make informed decisions about utilising it best.
Whether I am working on a small home renovation or a large commercial project, my goal is always the same: to create a space that is functional, comfortable, and reflective of my client’s personal style.

When extending my home, how do I know or achieve the balance between internal alterations and new build footprint?
Answer:…
It’s all about how you want to use the space as a family home. What I mean by this is for instance how you want to watch TV for example… what sofa or favourite chair do you want to sit on, do you want a large family sofa, do you like the TV on in the middle of an open plan area or do you prefer a snug space… When we look at activities such as how you want the kitchen area to function related to cooking and dining and how you want a mixture perhaps of enclosed and open areas for your family to enjoy. Then we can start to remove internal walls, alter structure and re-flow the planning of the house related to a new build extension. We can often deliver what you are looking for without extending the home. Large scale internal alterations are often more cost effective than new build which can be more expensive by a factor of 3 for example.
