Case Study – L-shaped extension linking to garage…

Here is a case study where an L-shaped extension was planned forming an open plan kitchen diner linking the house to the garage for conversion.  A solution was found to deliver the client’s wish list. At 7 Design, we have worked with many commercial and consumer clients. We have assisted in the design process at all stages and have abundant knowledge and expertise on what is required to get the job done. Our focus is making your home perfect – reaching it’s true potential. All within a budget and timeframe that’s right for you. We begin by 3d scanning your property with 8k photography. Then with this measure we create a digital twin, showing and visualising options for you until you are sure in what you want to achieve. We then move on to technical delivery and contract matters to get your project built on time and on budget.

An L-shaped house extension linking the garage for phased conversion into a home gym and cinema room, new enlarged kitchen with dining and family area …

Our dolls house process at 7designbuild interior design example. The proposals are visualised here with a 3d scan matched to new proposals for an infill extension linking the existing rear ground floor with the garage. Allowing for future phased conversion of the garage. With careful demolition internally the family area of the ground floor is transformed. This illustration shows the furniture placed for reference purposes and the client evaluation of the interior design proposals. Location of a central rooflight for maximum visual impact, stepped ceiling structure, flooding natural light into the footprint of the existing house.

Our client like many people feel comfortable in the home they already live in, yet they need more space and feel cramped by their existing layout.

This is where our team excel – let our Architect give you ideas that are transformational.

Our dolls house process let’s you evaluate various design options before you commit to technical design and statutory approvals. We are here for you through these later design stages however we know that the more time and energy spent at this intial concept phase will pay dividends as we progress through the design build process.

From the intial ‘walk and talk’ and consultations from the architect – key points of the existing plan will be identified for further review and illustration of potential ideas. Here we see that a a central rooflight and additional natural light to the kitchen with the rear wall moved closer to the boundary enlarges the available kitchen space.

Our dolls house process - production of technical information for planning and building control - the architect is on video call conference leading the client through the renovation proposals for their home extension. The animation shows the proposals appearing before the client.

Carefully considered changes to the already extended plan result in a better flow of the house. Previously the kitchen was in the centre hall position which causes difficulty living in the house and accessing the original footprint to the already extended garden area.

At the initial consultation, the architect will listen to your proposals and give you ideas. Outlining possibilities that you may not have considered.
