Case Study – an orangery style kitchen extension…
Here is a case study where the existing house had already been extended and altered – however prior to buying a new kitchen the owners wanted to explore what was possible to fully use the available space. A solution was found to deliver the client’s wish list. At 7 Design, we have worked with many commercial and consumer clients. We have assisted in the design process at all stages and have abundant knowledge and expertise on what is required to get the job done. Our focus is making your home perfect – reaching it’s true potential. All within a budget and timeframe that’s right for you. We begin by 3d scanning your property with 8k photography. Then with this measure we create a digital twin, showing and visualising options for you until you are sure in what you want to achieve. We then move on to technical delivery and contract matters to get your project built on time and on budget.
An orangery style kitchen extension with enlarged utility and family space…

Our client like many people feel comfortable in the home they already live in, yet they need more space and feel cramped by their existing layout.
This is where our team excel – let our Architect give you ideas that are transformational.
Our dolls house process let’s you evaluate various design options before you commit to technical design and statutory approvals. We are here for you through these later design stages however we know that the more time and energy spent at this intial concept phase will pay dividends as we progress through the design build process.
From the intial ‘walk and talk’ and consultations from the architect – key points of the existing plan will be identified for further review and illustration of potential ideas. Here we see that a a central rooflight and additional natural light to the kitchen with the rear wall moved closer to the boundary enlarges the available kitchen space.

Carefully considered changes to the already extended plan result in a better flow of the house. Previously the kitchen was in the centre hall position which causes difficulty living in the house and accessing the original footprint to the already extended garden area.

Although desinging from the plan up is natural it’s important to consider the overall massing of the house and how this effects the overall balance of the proposals.
